The community of Wheaton is mourning the tragic and unexpected loss of Benjamin M. Farraday, whose life was cut short in a devastating multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 290 westbound near Ashland Avenue. His sudden passing at just 25 years old has left family members, friends, and loved ones heartbroken as they struggle to process an unimaginable loss.
According to the Illinois State Police, the crash occurred during the early morning hours when a GMC SUV reportedly struck the rear of a Toyota SUV, triggering a chain-reaction collision involving multiple vehicles.
Benjamin Farraday, who was a passenger in the Toyota SUV, suffered critical injuries in the crash. Emergency responders transported him to a nearby hospital, where medical personnel worked to save his life. Despite those efforts, he was later pronounced deceased.
